Solite Icons0.1

Contributing

Add a glyph, improve a guide, or run the project locally.

Library development

git clone https://github.com/Nikola-Limpet/solite-icons.git
cd solite-icons
npm ci
npm run build
npm test
npm run check

Edit the original geometry in src/definitions/, using the shared helpers in src/geometry.ts. Keep the 24px grid, rounded caps and joins, and one consistent outline thickness.

Run npm run build and commit the regenerated files. npm run check catches stale generated code and assets.

Removing or renaming an icon is a breaking API change. Add new names without changing existing meanings.

Documentation development

The docs use Next.js, Fumadocs, and MDX in website/. Use Node.js 22 or newer.

npm ci
npm --prefix website ci
npm --prefix website run dev

The icon package used by this site is pinned to the initial package commit in website/package.json. When changing the library, update that dependency to the new library commit before updating the previews.

Write guides in website/content/docs/. Register their order in meta.json. The live demos are React components in website/components/.

Build a static site

npm --prefix website run build

The output is website/out/. It can be hosted by a static file host. For a repository subdirectory such as GitHub Pages:

DOCS_BASE_PATH=/solite-icons npm --prefix website run build

This adds the base path to application links, search, and downloadable SVGs. Set the correct base path before building, then serve the output at that path.
